There’s a few final projects from last semester I never posted, so here’s one of them!! I drew, cut out, and pinned a skirt to this guy I have affectionately named Apollo. He was on display in my school’s art building, and yes - that is my dad taking a picture with him.
This piece plays a lot with gender roles and the paper doll quality of the drawing when placed under a 3-dimensional skirt. Long story short, I wanted to question society’s idea of masculinity, and the idea that something as simple as a floral skirt could really make someone more or less of a man.
